Storm in Madison on May 6 2009

I lost my little lacy leaf maple (Daniel & Paul gave me 3 years ago for Mother's Day) to the storm and the Little Boy (Mom gave me for my birthday the year we moved in this house) got his hat banged up - dang oh storms. We had the place starting to look goodOne of the big Maples in front was blown into the house - you couldn't see the most part of the front.

Our gazebos got taken out - but the storm didn't touch the swing set??? Thankful - Anna will still have that to play on at Nonna's and PePaul's house!!! Looking forward to her arrival on Tuesday the 12 th. the ole devil can't steal my Joy. The Lord gave it to me and the devil can't take it away. - he might try - but I have the last say in it - and I say No.

This Oak Tree is about 25 or plus years old. The storm totally brought it up from the root ball - it's about 50 plus feet tall - or long we might way now.

This is the building that was 2 houses down - it took 6 men to move it back and then it was all they had to be able to move it.
It took about 8 to 12 feet of fence out in our yard.

My swing - that I use to love to relax in after a long day at work or on the weekends :( We are really blessed it didn't come through the sliding door :) See God covers us and protects us from the wales of the devil. Only good things come from our Heavenly father.

This is the other maple tree out in the front yard the top part is broken out of it. This was the only pic that you kinda could tell - I know not a very good pic. Paul said this tree will have to go also because it is side heavy and a good strong wind will blow it down and most likely hit a car in our drive way. So no trees in front yard - but that means grass!!!

A pic of the maple tree from the side looking back toward the back corner of our house and the the house next door.

Pic from the garage side looking down the front side of the house.

Another pic of the front of the house.

Another pic of the building and the fence in our back yard.

The root ball of the oak - it is almost as tall as the fence. Wow.
The concrete pad where the one of the gazebos use to be.

The swing set didn't get any damage.
I didn't get any pics of the rest of the neighborhood houses - But there are some houses with really BAD storm damage - We were blessed - we got rain in the front door and it got up under the floor and that part of the floor will have to be replaced, some gunders, siding and lights out front will have to be replaced. Looking at the tree when it was up against the house - we are truly blessed - it could have gone through Daniel's room or our walk in closet. But praise the Lord it didn't. Like my mom said "trees and property can be replaced - lives can't". She always puts me back into the right frame of mind. Thanks Mom from the bottom of my heart.
